Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced that it is fully prepared to restart flights to the United Kingdom, now that British authorities have lifted air safety restrictions on Pakistani airlines.

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has welcomed the UK’s decision to lift air safety restrictions on Pakistani carriers, calling it a “milestone for aviation safety.” The airline says the move reflects its commitment to meeting international safety standards.

PIA is now in the final stages of preparation and is working to finalize its flight schedule for UK routes.

According to the airline, operations will resume with direct flights from Islamabad to Manchester, with three weekly flights planned to start—pending final approval of the proposed schedule.

This development marks a major step toward restoring PIA’s international operations and reconnecting thousands of passengers between Pakistan and the UK.

PIA stated that the UK’s decision to lift the flight ban was the result of strict compliance with international aviation safety standards and ongoing collaboration between Pakistan’s aviation authorities and the UK government.

The airline also extended its gratitude to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), and British High Commissioner Jane Marriott for their efforts in making this breakthrough possible.

PIA emphasized that this marks a significant step forward for the national carrier and Pakistan’s aviation sector.
